During our travels, aside from museums, historical & cultural sites; we also like visiting public/private zoos especially where there are cute pandas LOL.
Taipei Zoo is very accessible. It is the very last stop southward on the MRT brown line. Then it is a bit of a walk to reach the main entrance. It was a lovely, cool January (2025) Friday when we explored the 165 hectare sanctuary of different types of animals in enclosures.
Some are inside glass structures while most are in open air wide spaces. Animals were categorized into several sections such as Australian Animal Area, Bird World, Amphibian and Reptile House, African Animal Area, Penguin House, Tropical Rainforest Area, Pangolin Dome, Koala House, Insectarium, Formosan Animal Area and the main attraction is the Giant Panda House.
Opening hours: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
General Admission: NT$ 100.00
The train shuttle within the zoo: NT$ 5.00
