The House of Dancing Water

The main reason we spent one night in Macau is we will be watching a show.  My sister booked us for the 8pm show of "The House of Dancing Water" at the City of Dreams.   An extravagant water based show with amazing acrobatic stunts amidst a tender love story.  

The City of Dreams complex is located just across The Venetian Hotel.  But we hopped on the free shuttle bus service because it is a long walk out in chilly conditions.  By the way, it was way colder in Macau than in Hong Kong!!!

The Venetian, Macau (December 22, 2012)

I guess it is a given that we make a side trip to Macau whenever we are in HK. After all, it is simply an hour ferry ride from Hong Kong island.  

This time though, my sister booked a suite for us to spend the night at The Venetian.  By this time, my mother had developed a nasty cough but since everything had been booked we went ahead with the trip.  So she spent it sleeping in our fancy suite. 

The suite located on the 27th floor had a great view of Macau.

While my parents were resting in the suite, D went off to meet up with his relatives who work in Macau.  So my sister and I explored The Venetian which is quite massive, our feet hurt from walking all over and discovering its nook and crannies.

 

Christmas in Hong Kong

This was our 3rd visit to Hong Kong so we basically took it easy.  Itinerary was blank. No tourist sites/attractions were on the agenda.  But we did soak in the cool climate (some days it was too cold for comfort) and had many family bonding moments. 

My (camera) trigger happy hubby though still managed to take tons of pictures. Several times, I would be peeved at him because he would wander off and we'd have to wait for him in the freezing cold before we could move on to our next destination. He just took pictures of everything in sight!

So most of the pictures I will be posting are c/o of D. In essence, I guess I have to thank him or else I would have nothing to blog about.  :D

Even though Hong Kong is mostly populated by Buddhists, their malls were still decked up with Christmas decors. I also noticed that their malls were very fragrant as in they smelled really good!!!

 

 

Back

We got back Friday night, the 4th of January. 
I'm exhausted. My feet hurt. My head hurt.
I'm still nursing a dry cough.  Blah!

Temperatures reached a whooping 9 degrees Celsius in HK.
I get back here it is a stifling 31 degrees C.
So it's back to sweating like I got menopause (read: hot flashes)

Got back to Quezon City, yesterday Sunday.
3 pieces of luggage still need to be unpacked.
I got laundry to sort out. Pictures to edit.

All in due time, I guess.
Frankly, I'm still too lazy to move because I get
dehydrated from sweating too much.
