We checked out from our hotel in Bolinao, Pangasinan at around 8:20 A.M. Our next destination was Vigan in Ilocos Sur. The estimated travel time was more or less 7 long hours. We both agreed that visiting churches along the route would be a good way to endure the long journey, to stretch our legs and say a prayer.
1. Parish of St Fabian, Pope and Martyr - San Fabian Pangasinan.
2. Basilica Minore of Our Lady of Charity - Agoo La Union
3. Saints Peter & Paul Parish Church - Bauang, La Union
During the Philippine-American war, the 400 year old San Pedro bell was taken as a war booty. More than a 100 years later, the US returned it to its home and is prominently displayed outside this parish in Bauang, La Union.
4. San Nicholas de Tolentino - Balaoan La Union
A slight traffic buildup allowed me to snap a quick photo of this church. Located along the national highway, it was closed when we passed by.
5. Saint Lucy Parish - Santa Lucia, Ilocos Sur
6. St. Stephen Church - San Esteban, Ilocos Sur

Wow, this is such a good road trip. I read the posts I missed so I went back. I have been going to San Fabian beach every year when I was a child but never got to see the church. We always go to Manaoag instead.
Thanks yes it was a great road trip :)
I have never been to Manaoag, it was part of our itinerary but we ran out of time, unfortunately. Maybe next time!
