Monday Music Mambo
1. Song By The First Band You Liked
"Gold" by Spandau Ballet

2. The Song That Makes You Think Of Your Best Friend
"Donna" by Los Lobos from La Bamba soundtrack

3. A Song By The First Band You Saw In Concert
"Bed of Roses". Bon Jovi was the first band I saw in concert. They performed at Sentosa in Singapore. I remember it rained earlier that day so on the night itself it was so humid and muddy. It was if I remember correctly Rock Music Night. I was standing near the huge speakers so my heart was pounding like I drank 12 expressos. But I had a grand time.

4. A Song That Reminds You Of College/School
"Just Got Lucky" from the Bagets Soundtrack. I never saw that movie. They just bombarded us with that song on the radio incessantly.

5. A Song That Makes You Think Of A Boyfriend/Girlfriend (Love) Past Or Present.
"If you're not the one" by Daniel Bedingfield. I sent him a gift on Valentine's Day which I ordered online. Together with a card with a paragraph from the song.
`Cause I miss you, body and soul so strong
that it takes my breath away
And I breathe you into my heart
and pray for the strength to stand today
`Cause I love you, whether it's wrong or right
And though I can't be with you tonight
And know my heart is by your side
Then a few weeks after, I ended the relationship over reasons I still can't comprehend to this day. 3 months later!

Night owl
10. Did you enjoy your weekend?
Yes I ate till I burst to celebrate my everdearest Mommy's birthday
It's 2 a.m
I'm still stuffed as a turkey on thanksgiving day. It seems I did nothing but pig out and sit on my big butt all day. Well come to think of it, I do that EVERYDAY. My excuse - my mother's birthday so gimme a break. No wonder when I tried my old jeans today it was way too tight. I even joked that since we tried a new laundry shop, they shrank my jeans! But who was I kidding?
My age and my waistline are both in their thirties. But I stopped growing vertically when I reached 18. My only consolation is that I don't look my age and it gives me more excuses to go shopping. It's interesting to note that we bought mom a birthday cake at Sugar House and it was I who ended up eating most of it. She blew the candles, took 3 bites then told me to store it in the ref. But after washing all the dishes, clearing up the kitchen, I sat down to watch the ETC channel and gobbled up the cake like it was my last meal.
Oh well. I live to eat or is it I eat to live?

"Where would you be?"
I remember seeing the trailer to "The Day after Tomorrow" and when they asked the above question, I whispered Bangkok! But as fate would have it, I was in Cinema 6 of Power Plant, Rockwell. The thing with disaster movies is it makes me want to pee while watching them. It happened when I watched "The Perfect Storm". This one aside from filling up my UTI prone bladder, it also made me shiver. I try to view a movie without expecting the usual ending in my mind. But it is all so predictable already for me. The hero walking halfway across the US to reach his son, a nobody.believes.you.they.think.you.are.insane premise, the U.S president making a victorious speech on T.V after the disaster and the boy loves girl but is too shy to tell his true feelings. At least Jake Gyllenhaal poured more emotions into his character even though who would believe he is supposed to be only 17 years old in this movie. His acting in "Moonlight Mile" reminded me of Jim Caviezel in "The Thin Red Line". You know, the dreamy spaced out character type. Global warming, the new ICE age and sappy father son reunion aside, I enjoyed it. Unlike the other doomsday flicks, "Armaggedon" and "Independence Day", this phenomenon might really happen some day. Isn't that scary?

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MOM!!!

    WHY I LOVE MY MOM
Mom and Dad were watching TV when Mom said, "I'm tired, and it's getting late. I think I'll go to bed." She went to the kitchen to make sandwiches for the next day's lunches. Rinsed out the popcorn bowls, took meat out of the freezer for supper the following evening, checked the cereal box levels, filled the sugar container, put spoons and bowls on the table and started the coffee pot for brewing the next morning. She then put some wet clothes in the dryer, put a load of clothes into the washer, ironed a shirt and secured a loose button. She picked up the game pieces left on the table, put the phone back on the charger and put the telephone book into the drawer. She watered the plants, emptied a wastebasket and hung up a towel to dry. She yawned and stretched and headed for the bedroom. She stopped by the desk and wrote a note to the teacher, counted out some cash for the field trip, and pulled a text book out from hiding under the chair. She signed a birthday card for a friend, addressed and stamped the envelope and wrote a quick note for the grocery store. She put both near her purse. Mom then washed her face with 3 in 1 cleanser, put on her Night solution & age fighting moisturizer, brushed and flossed her teeth and filed her nails. Dad called out, "I thought you were going to bed." "I'm on my way," she said. She put some water into the dog's dish and put the cat outside, then made sure the doors were locked and the patio light was on. She looked in on each of the kids and turned out their bedside lamps and TV's, hung up a shirt, threw some dirty socks into the hamper, and had a brief conversation with the one up still doing homework. In her own room, she set the alarm; laid out clothing for the next day, straightened up the shoe rack. She added three things to her 6 most important things to do list. She said her prayers, and visualized the accomplishment of her goals. About that time, Dad turned off the TV and announced to no one in particular. "I'm going to bed." And he did...without another thought. Anything extraordinary here? Wonder why women live longer...?

'CAUSE WE ARE MADE FOR THE LONG HAUL..... and we can't die sooner, we still have things to do!!!!
Send this to extraordinary women in your lives.
    Then: GO TO BED!

    Yes so ...
  • Fantasia won American Idol. Well that was to be expected right? Although I wanted Diana to win. Fantasia, I believe deserved it. Her voice has more range, she really emotes and feels the songs and she gives a good performance on stage. I just wish she doesn't shriek too much.

  • Now that American Idol and Survivor: All Stars have ended, I'm left with no reality shows to watch. I'm eagerly waiting for this year's run of Amazing Race to begin on July 6.

  • We have received the hotel confirmation for our stay in Singapore in July. But we still have to find decent yet affordable accommodation in Bangkok. That's the only thing that I'm really excited about nowadays. Our vacation! It's my first time to visit Bangkok. Although we lived in Singapore for 3 years, it is always interesting to go there and see its progress.

  • I read about Better Herbs.
They have this product, Better Sleep which:
    1. Can be used to eliminate fatigue symptoms, insomnia, dizziness, tinnitus, and lethargy.
    2. Strengthens weak lumbar and knees.
    3. Improves mental alertness and poor memory.
    4. Improves immunological system, and restores strength after surgery or severe medical conditions (delivery, operation, chemotherapy etc.)
    5. Stabilizes abnormal menstruation, menopausal syndrome, and prevents prostate enlargement.
I'm hoping it would be beneficial for my health. I'm not a pill popping person but I really need to swallow this bitter pill. Pun intended.

  • My computer has been restored to its default settings. The 'problem' has been fixed by none other than yours truly. I'm proud of myself because I'm not really a technical junkie. My solution to things breaking down is to buy a new one. LOL

  • I've also installed most of my softwares except for MIRC. As far back as I can remember, I've always had Mirc. Now I'm not inclined to download it at all. I haven't chatted in ages. This dry spell started sometime in Jan. 2004 after this particular incident. I opened my MSN messenger after being invisible most of the time. This person who I considered a friend messaged me. The usual "hi how have you been? Where have you been hiding?" conversation ensues. Then he asks me "WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU DAPH? YOU USED TO BE FUN. NOW YOU ARE JUST SO DULL AND UTTERLY BORING"!" SO having been said that to my face, I promptly disconnected, uninstalled MSN and don't regret it at all. I guess I need to expound more on this topic, maybe on another post one of these days.
