Happiness is
  • Laughing heartily to funny emails.

  • Being amused by silly inane websites such as this, this too and check if you can spot the difference between the pictures in this one!

  • Watching "Before Sunrise" DVD on a rainy Thursday evening tucked under my quilt. As a preview to watching the sequel tomorrow at Rockwell.

  • Knowing that Amazing Race 6 is about to start soon.

  • Planning out of town trips in the coming months!

  • Yes I know it's kinda boring but I'm happy ... So there!

    LSS
I've always known about this song.
I've heard different versions of it.
But after watching "Love Actually" 4 times now, Joni Mitchell's version consumes me.
The lyrics are piercing words to a calming melody.
    Her voice is enchantingly haunting.
The song floats lingering in my mind!

    Both Sides Now
Bows and flows of angel hair
and ice cream castles in the air
    And feather canyons everywhere,
I've looked at cloud that way.
But now they only block the sun,
they rain and snow on everyone.
So many things I would have done
but clouds got in my way.

I've looked at clouds from both sides now,
From up and down, and still somehow
    It's cloud illusions I recall.
I really don't know clouds at all.

Moons and junes and ferris wheels,
the dizzy dancing way you feel
    As every fairy tale comes real;
I've looked at love that way.
But now it's just another show.
You leave 'em laughing when you go
And if you care, don't let them know,
    don't give yourself away.

I've looked at love from both sides now,
From give and take, and still somehow
    It's love's illusions I recall.
I really don't know love at all.

Tears and fears and feeling proud
to say I love you right out loud,
Dreams and schemes and circus crowds,
I've looked at life that way.
But now old friends are acting strange,
they shake their heads, they say I've changed.
    Something's lost but something's
    gained in living every day.

I've looked at life from both sides now,
From win and lose, and still somehow
    It's life's illusions I recall.
I really don't know life at all.

    Does it hurt??
I kept asking my sister that question.
You see I've never had a facial in my entire 36 years of existence.
I've neglected and abused my skin through the years.
Pimples marks, UV rays of the sun have wreaked havoc on my skin.
So today armed with a Forever Flawless gift certificate, I said to myself ... It's time to try it. There is always a first time for everything.
I like to believe I have a strong threshold when it comes to pain.
After all I pluck my eyebrows without using any cream. Boy was I wrong!
She starts by applying creams and massaging the face. Then steams it up opening my pores. Wrapping it with a warm towel.
After covering my eyes with thin white cotton like paper, she switches on something.
A bright white light blaring over my face, she proceeds to scrape deep into my open pores.
The forehead part was still tolerable.
Although I was already wincing and grimacing not to cry.
She attacks my nose, pushing deep against the cartilage.
Digging, scraping out the black heads.
    It was VERY painful!!!
I was clenching my teeth and grinding them to a powdery form.
Every single muscle in my body tensed up!
It was pure torture for 45 minutes.
But I persevered and endured the agony.
And I survived to blog about it.
Now my face is shiny and glowingly clean.
It tingles a bit but I feel thoroughly cleansed.
It might take me another 36 years before I have another facial.
With the amount left, I will opt for either the body scrub or the intensive foot therapy, next time.
Anything that doesn't involve the use of blunt instruments!

    It is rather ...
preposterous of me to actually fall in love (or is it merely lust) with a guy who I know is geographically incompatible.
And there is no way in hell (or earth for that matter) for us to be together.
And yet I still did fall for him.
I know I should have stopped mid way.
    But I didn't.
So I simply roll my eyes everytime he talks about the women he intends to pursue or when he talks about his dates.
I listen patiently while he laments that some girl is bailing out on him.
I even give him pieces of advice on how to woo a woman.
    I know it isn't healthy.
But on the other hand, I haven't felt this way for someone in ages.
And I like the way he makes me feel.
So if only for that little tingle in the pit of my stomach, I would endure in silence.
While trying not to bang my forehead against my computer's monitor.

    New Layout!
Yes new look, I got bored.
I notice I've been getting really restless these past days.
    I wonder why!
Oh wait, I think I know why.
But I rather not blog about it.
I got some inner turmoil I'm dealing with at this moment.
Either that or just blame it on PMS.
    As usual.
So for now I'm satisfied with this template.
I just might change it again, soon.
    I know ... I know!
    I'm a fickle minded babe.
Geez I'm not making any sense now am I?
I better go ... munch on something.
    I'm craving for chocolate cake.
And thankfully there is one with my name on it.
    In the fridge.
    My birthday cake! Woot!
    Laterz!

    No title post
So here I am 36 years of age.
I think I'm still in denial.
I still write 35 by mistake.
Like when I play the lottery.
    Yes I do bet.
I just might hit the jackpot one day.
    And win millions of pesos.
Ah to dream the impossible dream.
I usually play the following numbers.
    10-19-7-23-34-35.
The biggest I've won were 4 numbers.
A measly P600 but I was so happy that day, I splurged on VCDs.
    Who knows?
36 just might be my lucky number!

    *************

I was really surprised when I got gifts for my birthday.
All the while I thought that the trip would be my only present, this year.
    I got VCDs of movies:

  • I love ["Love Actually" - Hugh Grant is hilarious!]
  • I like ["Troy" - Eric Bana in a short skirt gave me wet dreams for 3 days!]
  • I always wanted to see but ran out of time/or was too broke to see it. ["Kill Bill"]
  • a DVD of "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl" courtesy of my best friend Pinky who sent it all the way from the US. She knows I adore Johnny Depp.

  • Today, I watched "Ladder 49" at Rockwell. Not bad but not good either, it was just Ok. Therefore, I didn't break my tradition of watching a movie on the occasion of my birthday!

I also bought "Ash Wednesday" for only P199 at Tower Records. It stars Edward Burns. I love the guy and have seen most of his independent movies. They mostly focus on being an Irish Catholic guy in New York City.
This whole week has been a really great film festival showcase of my favorite actors.

It's weird because when I was basking in the sun at Caylabne.
    Posted by Hello

I came up with quite a few topics to blog about when I came back.
Contemplating on them now, it seems quite tedious to compose my thoughts coherently to come up with posts that would keep the readers interested.
Not that I blog for the sake of other people.
I write so I can think out loud some matters which cloud my mind.
Maybe, too much sunlight fried my brain. Either that or I got writer's block.
I hope this is just temporary!
In the mean time, click here if you want to see more of my pictures.
    I'm back!

2 days of calm and serenity spent at a beautiful place.
Caylabne Bay Resort was breathtakingly peaceful.
I cannot find the words to express how magical it was.

I was expecting the Black Pearl with Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) sail into view from behind that cliff!

I received SMS from places as far off as Pakistan, Kuwait, Sweden, Dubai and Bahrain from friends I've cherished through the years!
My online friends in Wales, Canada and France (via Japan) sent me e-cards.
    My barkada here messaged me.
And fellow bloggers left their comments.
To everyone, I say thank you from the bottom of my heart!

But most especially to my parents and my sister.
A million thanks for spending those 2 days with me.
It truly will be one of my most memorable birthdays ever!

    Happy birthday to me!
    Marhaba!
    Aujourd'hui, I'm 36!
Trente six is one of my vital stats.
    Unfortunately not my bustline.
    I pray my waistline won't reach 36!
Yup it's la taille of my hips.
So I got 1 out of 3! Hurray!

I will be off for a couple of days.
I'll be here to celebrate the advent of my spinsterhood. LOL

I'll leave you with this quip from Johnny Depp:
"Nowadays, it's all a question of surgery isn't it?
But I think it's great fun growing old."

    Well said ... Johnny baby!!

Maraming salamat to all those who greeted me already.
The rest can wish me courtesy of Haloscan. :P
    Hasta la bye bye!
